While we were working deliveries for DoorDash and Instacart to survive our economic crisis, my husband took us to see our first solar eclipse, which occurred on April 8, 2024, almost a year to today’s date (April 1, 2025). The solar eclipse was visible in different states across the country, such as Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, and Maine. We saw it in a store parking lot.
We had the opportunity to appreciate the magic of the eclipse in San Antonio, Texas.🇨🇱🤠👢

My daughter Karol and I had no idea how these glasses worked. They’re strange, you can’t see anything. Everyone did their best to see the eclipse.😎

My daughter Karol was very happy and excited to see the eclipse, as she had never seen one before. She was eager to see it.😊

My cell phone doesn’t have the best camera to capture the eclipse, but the magic was just beginning.

In this photo, my daughter Karol’s face makes me laugh. She was telling her dad she was disappointed because what she expected wasn’t happening, because she thought it was going to get completely dark at 12:30 p.m. in the middle of the day. She wanted it to look like a horror movie, but she was getting angry and losing interest in waiting to see the “magic.”

My husband Jack trying to keep our daughter Karol interested in our first eclipse by telling jokes. Everyone was in the parking lot watching the eclipse.

Meanwhile, this is what the sky looked like, and we were overjoyed to see the eclipse. After all, I have fond family memories of the eclipse in San Antonio, Texas. 😊
