The Twelve Principles of the Messianic Karaites are a borrowed, slightly modified and expanded version of the Karaite Ten Principles of Faith. The difference between Karaites and Messianic Karaites is that the latter recognizes Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus the Christ) as the Messiah. These principles were penned by John Alan Martinson on the 23rd of Sh’vat in the year 5782 (January 24, 2022).
- God brought the trinity of time, space and matter into existence as recorded in Genesis 1:1, and these three things are each tri-unities.
- The Creator is immortal, was not Himself created—and just as He created woman (Genesis 2:22) for man (Genesis 2:18)—without genuine love and companionship from free will entities, He would forever exist in the lonely prison of existence.
- The Creator exists in three forms, called the Trinity, and has provably manifested in physical form as the Messiah.
This is contrary to the non-messianic Karaite third principle, which rejects the Trinity with the statement, “That this Creator has no physical form and is single and unified in every sense.” - The Creator appeared in physical form to Abraham (Genesis 18:1 – 33) and spoke directly to Rabbi Moses to instruct Israel.
- The Creator provided His perfect Torah to Rabbi Moses to guide a civilization of immortals, called Israel, into eternity.
- All men must know the language of God (Zephaniah 3:9) and the interpretations of His Torah—the laws of which, none may add to nor diminish.
- God communicates to humanity through prophets, angels and the Messiah.
- Reincarnation is written of as a reality in the Tanakh (Old Testament) and Brit Chadashah (New Testament), as is the Resurrection of the Dead on the Day of Judgment (Revelation 20:12-13).
- Salvation is attained by following the commandments of God (Revelation 22:14), and these are the 613 commandments of His Torah and the lawful decrees of His Messiah. Whoever loves the Messiah will follow his commandments (John 14:15). These statements are a rejection of the teachings of the False Apostle Paul, who taught that salvation is attained by “grace” (a word that Rabbi Yeshua is never quoted as using in the New Testament).
- God has not abandoned the exiled Israelites to the whims of anti-Christ nations. The Tribulation of the Israelites will be brought to an end in the recognition of God’s perfect Torah and His Messiah, Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus the Messiah).
- The Greek word pisteuō (πιστεύω) is properly translated as “obey” in John 3:16, and the Greek word dysnoētos (δυσνόητος) in 2 Peter 3:16 is properly translated as “nonsense.”
- There are Twelve Tribes of Israel as there are Twelve Apostles (Revelation 21:14).
This statement is a rejection of the False Apostle Paul who would be counted as a Thirteenth Apostle.
